Im VERY happy with my order and The result. I changed a few things along the way, one being going with Denka instead of Mab. Of course there were no problem and custom service were swift with the response and change of order.
210 mm denka were perfect and I use it everyday.
Thanks alot! 10/10.

Incredible knife! I purchased the 180mm Gyuto Denka no Hoto and it's absolutely stunning. The steel is beautiful and sharper than any other knife I have ever used. It feels clearly sharper than my Shun knives ever have. I really like the spot for my index finger as well. Thank you so much for your hard work and extraordinary knife making skills! A true treasure I will enjoy using during my lifetime. Great customer service and easy shipping experience as well. Looking forward to maybe another Denka in my future :) Thanks again!

This is my second purchase, I previously bought a Gyuto (Denka). The Denka steel is second to none. If you steel the knife from time to time, it will stay sharp for a very long time. Because of the quality of the steel, the knife is extremely sharp. Overall, it is a well balanced knife that is a pleasure to use. Well worth the expense.

In 2014 I bought the 120mm denka.out of the box it was extremely sharp.but after some time I decided it needed sharpening, but I was not skilled and used an adjustable angle guide which I used for all of my knives giving a v edge.I found that this was not good for this knife and after trying(for much too long)I had ground alot of steel away and became upset.so put the knife away realizing that I need to learn freehand sharpening.
I am still learning to sharpen but once I made a convex edge on the knife there was no more chipping of the edge. I was so happy and the denka is now one of my most used knives, and will even cut through pumpkin skin without rolling or chipping the edge.the little of the hard steel left has become stained but has never rusted.if only I had learned to sharpen earlier...So I would like to say thank you Mr Teruyasu for the craftsmanship and skills that goes into the making of these knives and I will still have many years of use from it
Regards David

This is a great knife with a traditional wabi-sabi aesthetic of subtle irregularity that reveals its making. Perfectly balanced and super sharp it is a pleasure to use every day. The Maboroshi is also a very practical knife of carbon steal blade wrapped in a stainless steal. I have a few Japanese knives but I love my Maboroshi and Nashiji best because of simple natural beauty and they way they feel in my hand when I cut.

This knife is definitely a bruiser/workhorse, but thin where it counts, behind the edge, with great convex grind and geometry.
Measurements:
1. Edge length: 213mm
2. Height about heel: 49.mm
3. Spine thickness: 3.9mm at heel, 2.5mm halfway,
2mm an inch from the tip.
4. Weight: 189 grams.
Performance:
Lasers through soft product with ease despite the thick spine. This knife really lives up to the -

Handle has great feel in the hand. Pronounced taper from the buffalo horn bolster to the heal of the handle resulting in great comfort. Only a slight bump at the magnolia wood to horn junction. Tang is friction fit with no visible adhesive (no epoxy or glue) so you might consider sealing the tang with some kind of adhesive such as bees wax, epoxy, clear glue, to make sure the seal betweeen handle and tang are waterproof to protect against water damage. Overall, nice handle with great fit and finish. Medium size handle at around 2.5 inches in circumference...It is 28$ USD to upgrade from a western handle or magnolia wood d shaped with plastic bolster and it is worth every penny. I would recommend upgrading to this handle if possible.
